Eddie Bruce Celebrates The Music of Anthony Newley From Broadway to Willie Wonka

Anthony Newley was a certifiable show business legend.  He was an actor, filmmaker, singer, and notably, a Grammy Award winner and an Academy Award-nominated composer, having written songs that have become popular song standards.  Acclaimed cabaret singer and bandleader Eddie Bruce celebrates the music and life of Anthony Newley in this performance; a show that has sold out New York City’s Birdland Theater, among others.  Eddie revisits the iconic Newley songbook, in tunes that include “What Kind of Fool Am I?”, “Feelin’ Good”, “The Candy Man”, “Once in a Lifetime”, “Who Can I turn To?” and selections from beloved play and movie, “Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory”.

Eddie Bruce, who appeared at the Gateway last season with his critically acclaimed salute to Tony Bennett, has entertained and delighted audiences up and down the East Coast with his salutes to Newley, Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Duke Ellington, and the best of Broadway.  He made headlines with his sold-out tribute to the famed nightspot, The Latin Casino, at World Cafe Live and Drexel University’s Mandell Theatre.  His famed, large dance ensemble has entertained at just about every notable charitable and corporate gala and event in the Philadelphia region and beyond.
