Somers Point Kid’s Concert Series- Mark Rust’s Family Music Show

Mark Rust, a multi-talented family performer from Woodstock NY, will perform a show for the entire family at William Morrow Beach, Bay Ave, Somers Point on Monday, August 7th, at 6:30pm. If inside, the show will be at the Youth Center on Marks Rd.

Mark’s show features fun sing alongs on a variety of instruments including guitar, banjo, fiddle, and hammered dulcimer. In addition, everyone will learn to play the spoons, and will participate in a couple traditional American country dances for all ages that require no experience. Afterward, everyone can try playing all Mark’s instruments.

Mark starred in the Broadway Musical Hit Pump Boys & Dinettes, and has appeared in People Magazine performing with Pete Seeger and Peter, Paul & Mary. He has released several recordings including “Songs of America” on Golden Books, and can be seen playing music in the recent Terrence Malick film “The Better Angels” about Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood years. Mark has been nominated for a Campus Entertainer of the Year Award in Family Programs by the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA).
