Somers Point, NJ (July 20, 2023) – The City of Somers Point, NJ is the South Jersey mecca for great events, food, arts, and live music, especially heading into the busy climax of the summer season.

While the summer-long Friday Night Beach Concert Series continues through the second weekend in September, Somers Point also is home to a bustling Farmer’s Market every Saturday morning through September 2. With the return of boat racing on August 6 and a combined Art in the Park and Good Old Days Festival on September 9, summertime in Somers Point will keep the excitement going throughout the summer season.

Beach Concert Series

The 30th Annual Somers Point Beach Concert Series is back on Friday nights through September 8 with free musical entertainment on the bandstand at the William Morrow Beach (on Bay Avenue between Higbee and New Jersey avenues) in Somers Point. Named the Best Outdoor Concert Series for 2023 by USA Today, the Somers Point Concert Series, produced by the City of Somers Point and the all-volunteer Somers Point Beach Concert Committee, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. The public is invited to bring their beach chairs, blankets, and coolers. Farmer’s Market

Now in its third year, the Farmer’s Market is held from 8 a.m. to noon each Saturday on the grounds of Somers Mansion, which is located at the intersection of Shore Road and Route 52. Each Saturday, the market’s 20 to 30 vendors sell everything from fresh-cut flowers, baked goods, Jersey Fresh produce, and prime meats, to local honey, pet treats, tasty snacks, and even CBD wellness products. Park for free in the Somers Point Mansion’s lot off MacArthur Boulevard. The Farmer’s Market benefits from its location on the mansion’s shady lawn, which includes cool sea breezes and great views of the Great Egg Harbor Bay. Any vendors interested in participating should e-mail localfarmstand@yahoo.com.

Boat Racing at Kennedy Park

Jersey Shore Boat Racing will be back on August 6, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. racing specific classes of Garvey Boats, Jersey Skiffs, Ski Boats, and Single O/B V-Hulls in the bay right off of Kennedy Park. Art in the Park & Good Old Days Festival

from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Kennedy Park. Art in the Park is an annual event of the Somers Point Arts Commission. This one-day outdoor festival is held at J.F. Kennedy Park (24 Broadway, Somers Point, NJ) and overlooks the beautiful Great Egg Harbor Bay and features an art exhibit and sale of fine art, painting, and photography. There will be live music throughout the day, a children’s art exhibit from students in Somers Point’s schools, art activities for kids, food, and more. Learn more at artintheparksomerspt.weebly.com. The annual Good Old Days Festival has been known for its car show featuring antique and classic cars, music (on three stages), and community and children’s activities. Now combined with the Art in the Park on September 9 at Kennedy Park, the joint festival promises a full day of fun, food, and drink sure to please everyone in the family.
