SUMMARY:Assault on Patcong Creek Crabbing Tournament
DESCRIPTION:Crabbers grab your traps – the 10th annual Assault on Patcong Creek returns on Friday\, June 26 and Saturday\, June 27. With bushel baskets and crabbing traps in hand\, participating teams launch their vessels into the water in search of rich crab habitats. This tournament\, which began in 2010\, has grown to be the largest crabbing tournament in the United States. Following the tournament on Saturday\, there will be an invite only barbecue and crab bake for all participating crabbers and their families\, featuring: crab races\, a magician\, live music\, a crab cake eating contest\, environmental and educational groups\, and much more. DESCRIPTION:The Patcong Creek Foundation (PCF) will host its annual Painting for Patcong Creek holiday crab shell painting fundraiser\, along with a private showing of the documentary “On The Line: The Story of America’s Largest Crabbing Tournament”\, on Friday\, December 6 at 6:30 p.m. at the Seashore Science Center in Somers Point\, 599 Marks Road. The shells are cleaned and primed in advance\, and each guest receives three shells to make their unique holiday creations. Children can join in on the fun by painting clam shells\, making this a fun evening for the whole family. Tickets for the shell painting are $20 for adults\, $10 for children.
