DESCRIPTION:Join the Somers Point Historical Society on a bus trip to Historic Annapolis\, Maryland on May 4\, 2019. Take a tour of the US Naval Academy\, then view the Tripoli Monument\, Naval Museum\, or visit the gravesite of John R. Elliot\, while still on the grounds of the Academy. Dine in downtown Annapolis\, take a boat tour\, visit the Capitol building\, historic homes\, shop in Historic Annapolis or take a boat tour to round out your afternoon. \nThe cost is $65 which includes the tour\, bus transportation\, and onboard snacks. Dining and other tours are at your own cost. Sign-ups will begin March 1\, when the website is loaded with all trip details. Payment and sign-ups can be completed online or via mail and seating will be based on the order of payment. This is a bus trip that is rarely offered anymore and the tour of the Naval Academy is special. A $5 discount per member will be given to existing members of the Historical Society. If you are not a current member\,  join today and take advantage of the discount for other bus trips this year!

The event will take place at DiOrio’s Circle Café on MacArthur Boulevard in Somers Point from 4-7 p.m. The menu will include caesar salad\, appetizer meatballs\, wings and tenders\, pasta with broccoli with white wine sauce\, wine\, domestic beer\, and sodas. \nThe cost is $25 per person for adults and $10 for children. There will also be Chinese auction baskets\, and a 50/50 raffle. Tickets are available for purchase in advance by calling the Somers Point Historical Society at 609-927-2900. The Somers Point Historical Museum\, located at 745 Shore Road\, will be open on March 9 from 5-7 p.m. to purchase tickets directly. Tickets will be available for purchase at the door to benefit the Fire Company.
