SUMMARY:Somers Point Kid’s Concert Series- Mark Rust's Family Music Show
DESCRIPTION:Mark Rust\, a multi-talented family performer from Woodstock NY\, will perform a show for the entire family at William Morrow Beach\, Bay Ave\, Somers Point on Monday\, August 7th\, at 6:30pm. If inside\, the show will be at the Youth Center on Marks Rd. \nMark’s show features fun sing alongs on a variety of instruments including guitar\, banjo\, fiddle\, and hammered dulcimer. In addition\, everyone will learn to play the spoons\, and will participate in a couple traditional American country dances for all ages that require no experience. Afterward\, everyone can try playing all Mark’s instruments. \nMark starred in the Broadway Musical Hit Pump Boys & Dinettes\, and has appeared in People Magazine performing with Pete Seeger and Peter\, Paul & Mary. He has released several recordings including “Songs of America” on Golden Books\, and can be seen playing music in the recent Terrence Malick film “The Better Angels” about Abraham Lincoln’s boyhood years. Mark has been nominated for a Campus Entertainer of the Year Award in Family Programs by the National Association of Campus Activities (NACA).

Presented by Shore True Value Hardware with the Somers Point Historical Society in conjunction with The Somers Point Good Old Days Festival Organizing Committee.\nThe race is great for all levels of ability and ages. Participants are encouraged to carry or wear items that salute our first responders and members of our military services.\nAll race proceeds will support the Somers Point Historical Society\, which will provide scholarships and other education opportunities for local students.
